During the 6-week online training program, you will learn the tools and techniques needed to succeed as a Walmart Data Scientist. The program is taught in our virtual live online format so all you need is a computer. The curriculum teaches data skills through real business cases, it includes professional development support, and a team-based Capstone Project. At the end of the program, you will be ready to hit the ground running as a full-time data scientist at Walmart.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A DATA SCIENTIST AT WALMART

Data Scientists at Walmart Global Tech specialize in applying machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve problems across Merchandising, Supply chain, Operations, Real estate and eCommerce.

You will have the opportunity to work with a high caliber team from a variety of disciplines to build new software and radically change the business. Data Scientists work as part of an Experience Team to develop and deploy advanced algorithms at scale.

You will support and enable the entire project lifecycle including problem discovery with business clients, algorithmic design, coding, validation, deployment, testing, and monitoring. Data Scientists adhere to agile software development standards through rapid prototyping, iterative development, and incremental deployment of capabilities. Development is performed in Sprints and Data Scientists are held accountable to engineering excellence standards.

    • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Are there any prerequisites to apply?

Optimal candidates should have effective communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, and possess core data science skills in areas such as machine learning, statistics, Python, and experimental design. There will be an entry assessment focusing on the above data science skills. Fellows will complete technical cases that challenge them to apply their skills to real-world business use cases, to help them become effective practitioners within Walmart’s Global Tech team.

What is the application process?

The application process is an easy 3 Step process consisting of an online application followed by a skills assessment, and a final interview. Our process is not meant to be intimidating but a chance to get to know you better along the way! Our staff is here to guide you through the process each step of the way.

What is on the Assessment?

The Assessment will test your knowledge of a few areas related to data science. Some of the questions may be difficult, which is normal. The point isn’t to get everything right, but to help us better understand where you are in your data journey.You will receive the assessment link after you complete the online application.

How will I learn whether I got into the program?

A member of our team will reach out 1-2 weeks before the program start date, to let you know whether you’ve been accepted into the program. They will also let you know how to make sure you’re ready for the program on day one!

COURSE CONTENT

Who teaches the course?

The course is taught by Correlation One training instructors. They’re great at making concepts easy to understand and practical, so that you can use them in the real world.

Where are the classes held?

Classes are fully virtual, held in our “Live Online” classroom. All you need is a computer and the internet to access them. In the classes, you’ll be able to work directly with instructors and peers.

Do I have to attend all parts of the program?

Yes. Walmart’s Data Science bootcamp builds upon what you learned at the previous session and will allow you to get to know other participants and work on your team group capstone project.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

Is the program available internationally?

Walmart’s Data Science Bootcamp is currently only open to individuals who reside and may legally work in the United States.

Is a job offer at Walmart guaranteed after the program ends?

The Walmart Global Tech team will be ready to interview you upon successful completion of the program, however a job offer is not 100% guaranteed.

Are the job opportunities remote?

For this program, Walmart is hiring full-time Data Scientist roles in the Bentonville, Arkansas office. If you do not currently live in/or near Bentonville, applicants must be willing to relocate.
